Video Marketing

Video marketing is becoming an increasingly powerful website marketing tool.

Video messages and tutorials are an extremely cost effective method of communication and are being used evermore to convey messages to deliver an immediate impact in the shortest possible time-frame.

Many people are now choosing to use video marketing for their website to effectively market a product or service thus making it easier to captivate an audience and bring more users to the site.

Professional and well presented videos can be used to capture the consumer’s attention and convey an instantaneous message in a visually appealing way.

Whilst it is well known that we all have our own preferential methods of receiving communications, there is no better way to explain, via a short video clip to show what is available or on offer at your site.

Although this marketing tactic is the latest method of website communication, producing a video is not as easy as it sounds. Especially when taking into consideration that the video must have excellence in presentation and be of the highest quality.

A video as a communication tool requires a specific skill for it to be a successful – ‘effective marketing’. Poor quality and unprofessional videos can cause more damage to a site than not having one at all.

Video messages provide a unique opportunity to grab new users and potential visitor’s attention to your site. By giving them a brief insight, once they are on your site they are more likely to stay and see what is on offer, perform searches and more.

Videos can also be used in conjunction with email marketing where fast loading video clips and scrolling banners can be used to create visual impact in a brief and timely manner to people on a subscriber list. This can effectively harness the potential of showcasing products and services available and bring visitors back to your site.

A video message can also be search engine optimised in a very similar way to the everyday search engine optimisation.

It is said that search engines, in particularly Google, love videos and that it is an essential of SEO to prepare and present them in a way which enables search engines to actively locate and index the video/s for their search results.

This can be achieved by using keywords in the title, using anchor text if the video itself is linked to from other pages of the website and by submitting the video to appropriate video broadcasting websites such as the highly popular YouTube or, Google Videos.

Adding the site’s URL should always be included in static text at the bottom of the video to utilise every possible opportunity to redirect users back to your website.

As with the majority of internet marketing strategies, there is little point in making a video message, putting it on to a website and waiting to see what happens.

A great source to use for every video is YouTube where you can market your site freely and drive highly targetted traffic to your website.
